Where did the Bonito Bonito AI trend come from?
The Bonito Bonito AI trend started on TikTok in late October 2026, when AI babies began dancing to the song “Bonito, Bonito”, and it spread through a CapCut template that animates one baby photo. The routine is a pretend coffee sip, hands on the cheeks and a big self-hug. Make yours from one photo.
What the trend is
A short video of a baby doing a fixed dance to a sweet Spanish song. The dance acts out three short phrases: a tasty little coffee, a warm little hug and a little ray of sun. The twist that made it a trend is that anyone could get a version with their own baby, because AI animates a single photo. Adults and pets joined soon after.
Timeline
These are the dates we could verify. Nothing here is guessed.
| When | What happened |
|---|---|
| 23 October 2026 | @movi.beats posts a 23.7 second clip of a red-haired AI toddler in a mustard cardigan, a navy flower dress and a cream bow headband in front of a pale blue house. It reaches 2.4 million plays. |
| 24 October 2026 | A CapCut template captioned “Wait until your baby starts dancing…” spreads the idea. @frankietreasure5 posts the copy that becomes the most watched. |
| 24 to 27 October 2026 | Many more clips appear, most between 0.5 and 2.4 million plays. |
| 2 November 2026 | The top clip stands at about 22.4 million plays. Bonito Bonito AI launches as an independent generator for the trend. |
Why it spread
Three things worked together. The dance is tiny and easy to read, so a baby doing it is funny at once. The song is short, warm and in a language many people search for. And the template asked for one photo, which made every viewer a possible participant: you could see your own baby in the next clip. The look of the first video helped too, a cosy autumn scene that is easy to recognise again, and you can recreate it with the Cafecito Riquito Cardigan dance.
Where it is now
The viral clips are 23 to 27 seconds long. A Bonito Bonito AI video is 15 seconds and covers the first six beats of the dance with the song mixed in. There is no Bonito Bonito filter inside TikTok or Instagram, and CapCut templates come and go, so we do not promise one is live today. The filter page covers that in detail, and the song page covers the music.
What we do not know is just as useful. We have no official view counts from TikTok, no confirmed list of who made the CapCut template, and no search volume figures, because the data we have ends before the trend began. We also cannot tell you how long it will last. Trends like this tend to move fast, so check the dates above before you rely on any number.
