Bonito Bonito AI Fails and Fixes: 10 Common Problems

11 min read · Published Nov 2, 2026 · By the Bonito Bonito AI team

The most common Bonito Bonito AI fails are a face that does not look like your baby, a cup that appears in the hands, extra fingers, a face that changes on the head tilt, a missing outfit, newborns who look alike, a pet standing awkwardly, a grown-up who did not turn into a toddler, a song that slips out of sync and a failed render. Every one of them has the same family of fixes: use another photo, pick another dance, try a higher model tier, or leave the audio alone. There is no prompt to repair, and a failed render returns its credits.

Key takeaways

  • Bonito Bonito AI has no prompt box. Your levers are the photo, the dance, the model tier and, after the render, whether you touch the audio.
  • A sharper, front-facing photo fixes more problems than any other change.
  • A cup in the hands, odd fingers and a drifting face are usually a "try another photo, another dance or a higher tier" problem, not something you did wrong.
  • Never re-edit the audio of the finished file. The song is already mixed in on the right timeline.
  • Failed or blocked renders return their credits automatically. A render that finishes but disappoints is a normal paid render.

How to read a failed clip before you change anything

Watch the 15 seconds twice. The first time, watch at normal speed and ask whether it feels right. The second time, watch one thing only: the face, then the hands, then the edges of the frame. Most problems live in one place, and the place tells you which lever to pull.

It also helps to know which beat you are in: the cafecito sip runs to 2.5 seconds, the bounce to 4.5, the cheek pose with the head tilts to 9.0, a shimmy to 10.0, the self-hug to 13.5 and the quarter turn to 15.0. Naming the moment makes the cause easier to guess. The how it is built post explains why those beats are fixed.

The four levers you have are these:

  1. Another photo. The photo is the source of the face, so a better one helps every likeness problem.
  2. Another dance. The dances differ in outfit, room and how the photo is treated, so a different one can sidestep a problem.
  3. A higher model tier. Standard (Seedance 2.0 Mini), Fast, Pro (Seedance 2.0) and Ultra (Seedance 2.5) are all by ByteDance. Higher tiers cost more credits. We have not measured which tier looks best, so treat a move up as something worth trying, not a guarantee.
  4. Leave the audio alone. After the render, the song is already in the file.

The default render is Standard at 720p, which costs 10 credits, and the Single pack at $6.99 pays for one standard video. The pricing page lists every tier. Credits never expire, and there is no free tier.

1. The baby does not look like my baby

What it looks like. It is a lovely toddler, just not yours. The nose is a bit different, the eyes are rounder, the hair has changed, and a relative asks "who is that?".

Why it happens. Bonito Bonito AI uses your photo as the source of the face, but a video model has to hold that identity across 15 seconds of movement. Small differences are easy to notice on a face you know well.

Fixes.

  • Use another photo: front-facing, sharp, even light, eyes visible, no sunglasses, no heavy filter, no hat pulled low.
  • Pick a calmer dance. Cozy Bear Hood frames the face with a hood, which gives the model a steady anchor.
  • Pick a higher model tier and render again.

A photo that shows a face at a steep angle gives the model far less to work with.

2. A cup appears in the hands

What it looks like. The first beat is a pretend sip from a tiny invisible cup. In the clip, a real cup is there, or a saucer, or a mug that was not in the plan.

Why it happens. The routine is a mime. Video models are better at drawing objects than miming them, and hands curled around nothing can look to a model like something is missing.

Fixes.

  • Render again. The cup is not in every run, and a second attempt can mime it properly.
  • Pick another dance. A different outfit and room change what the model sees around the hands.
  • Try a higher model tier.

People who copy a text prompt hit this even more often. The how it is built post explains why.

3. Extra fingers and odd hands

What it looks like. A sixth finger on the hand framing the cheek, fingers that melt together, or a hand that briefly has two thumbs.

Why it happens. Hands are among the hardest things for a video model, and this routine puts them in front of the face, on the chest and around an imaginary cup.

Fixes.

  • Render again, since the hands change between runs.
  • Pick another dance, because the outfit and sleeves change how the hands read against the body.
  • Move up a model tier.
  • Use a photo where the baby's hands are not in the picture, or are clearly visible. A photo with half a hand creeping into the frame gives the model a confusing starting point.

If a glitch is obvious at normal speed, render again before you share it.

4. The face changes when the head tilts

What it looks like. The first seconds look right. When the head tilts left and right during the cheek pose, the face softens, ages up or becomes a different baby, and returns to normal afterwards.

Why it happens. The cheek pose runs from 4.5 to 9.0 seconds, the longest beat, and the head tilts through the whole of it. A tilted head shows the face from new angles that the single photo never showed.

Fixes.

  • Use another photo, ideally one where the head is already slightly turned or tilted, so the model has seen more than one angle.
  • Pick a dance with a hood or a bow, because an accessory can anchor the head. Cozy Bear Hood and Pink Bow Bonito both do this.
  • Go up a model tier.
  • Render again once.

5. The outfit from my photo is missing

What it looks like. You uploaded a photo of your baby in a favourite yellow outfit. The video shows a plain blue romper, a mustard cardigan or a bear hood instead.

Why it happens. This is by design. Four of the dances supply their own outfit and room: Classic Bonito Baby, Cafecito Riquito Cardigan, Pink Bow Bonito and Cozy Bear Hood. The photo gives the face, and the dance gives the wardrobe.

Fixes.

  • If you want the outfit from your photo, pick Baby Me Bonito, which dresses the toddler in a simplified, toddler-sized version of the clothes in the photo, or Grown-Up Bonito, which keeps the exact clothes in your photo.
  • If you want a particular outfit from the dance list, pick that dance.
  • Do not expect a pattern, logo or text on the clothes to be copied exactly. The versions in the dances are plain, with no logos or text.

The dances page shows every outfit.

6. Newborns look alike

What it looks like. The face is a nice baby face, but a newborn photo gives a clip that could be anyone's newborn.

Why it happens. Very young babies show fewer distinguishing features in a photo: eyes closed or squinting, a swaddle or hat over the hair and ears. The model may have little individual detail to hold on to.

Fixes.

  • Use another photo with eyes open and nothing covering the forehead or ears.
  • Move up a model tier.

We have not measured newborn likeness, so we make no promise here. The dance is a pretend toddler version of your baby.

7. The pet stands awkwardly

What it looks like. A dog or cat on its hind legs with a bent back, legs in the wrong place or a tail that goes through the body.

Why it happens. Pet Bonito stands the animal up on its hind legs for the whole routine, which is not a natural pose for it, so the model has to invent an upright cat or dog.

Fixes.

  • Use another photo: one clear picture of your dog or cat, facing the camera, with the whole body visible and the markings clear.
  • Avoid photos where two animals share the frame, or a person is holding the pet.
  • Try a higher model tier.
  • Render again once.

8. The adult did not turn into a baby

What it looks like. You uploaded your own photo and hoped for a toddler version of yourself. The clip shows a grown-up in a kitchen.

Why it happens. You picked Grown-Up Bonito. That dance keeps you at your own age, in your own clothes, in a morning kitchen. It is the one dance that does not make you younger.

Fixes.

  • Pick Baby Me Bonito. It keeps your face shape, eyes, smile, skin tone and hair colour, and shows you as a toddler.
  • Or pick Classic Bonito Baby, which also shows a grown-up photo as a toddler.
  • Run it again with a higher model tier if the toddler does not look like you.

Check the dance before you generate.

9. The song is out of sync after I re-edited it

What it looks like. You took the finished MP4 into an editing app, replaced the sound or put a different version of the track under it, or stretched the clip to fit a longer slot. Now the sip arrives too early and the hug lands during the bounce.

Why it happens. The MP4 is built on a fixed 15-second timeline with six beats, and the song is mixed in on that exact timeline. Trimming, speeding up, slowing down or swapping the audio changes the relationship between the moves and the music.

Fixes.

  • Do not re-edit the audio. Download the MP4 and post it as it is.
  • If the audio has gone wrong in an app, download the finished video again and start from the original, as long as it is still within 24 hours.
  • If you need a different format, pick it before you generate: 9:16 is the default, with 1:1 and 16:9 available.

The song is credited on TikTok to Thiago Navarro Music, a digital singer project that uses AI. Some platforms mute or restrict music on uploaded files. If that is your problem rather than sync, read Posting Your Bonito Bonito Video on TikTok, Reels and WhatsApp.

10. The render failed

What it looks like. The generator shows an error, the render never finishes, or the clip is blocked.

What it means. A failed or blocked render returns its credits automatically. You do not need to ask for them, and the credits do not expire.

What to do.

  • Check that the credits are back, then try once more.
  • If the render was blocked, check the photo against the rules: your own baby or toddler as a parent or legal guardian, yourself, or your own dog or cat. Other people's children, nudity, bath photos, celebrities and public figures are not allowed.
  • Use another photo if the same one fails twice.
  • If it still fails, write to the address on the site and say which dance and tier you used.

A render that finishes but looks wrong is a normal paid render. Credit packs are not refundable, so check the photo and the dance before you start.

Which fix first

A simple order saves credits:

  1. Check the dance. Did you pick the one you meant, especially Baby Me Bonito or Grown-Up Bonito?
  2. Check the photo. Is it sharp, front-facing and free of text?
  3. Try another dance if the problem sits in one beat.
  4. Move up a model tier.
  5. Do not touch the audio.

Standard at 720p is 10 credits, and the Single pack covers one. Start again from the generator when you are ready. Frequently asked questions

Why does my Bonito Bonito AI baby not look like my baby?

Face drift is the usual reason. Bonito Bonito AI uses your photo as the source of the face, but the head tilt and fast moves make small details change. Use another, sharper, front-facing photo, pick a calmer dance such as Cozy Bear Hood, or try a higher model tier. There is no prompt to edit.

Do I lose credits if my Bonito Bonito AI render fails?

No. Bonito Bonito AI returns credits automatically when a render fails or is blocked, and credits never expire. A render that finishes but looks wrong still counts as a completed video, so check your photo and dance before you generate again. A standard video costs 10 credits, and packs are not refundable.

Why did a cup appear in the hands of my Bonito Bonito AI video?

The first beat is a pretend sip from an invisible cup, and video models sometimes fill empty hands with a real one. Render again, pick another dance or try a higher model tier on Bonito Bonito AI. You cannot fix it by adding words, because the generator has no prompt box.

Why did my Bonito Bonito AI adult photo not turn into a baby?

You probably picked Grown-Up Bonito, which keeps you at your own age, in your own clothes, in a kitchen. To appear as a toddler, choose Baby Me Bonito or Classic Bonito Baby in Bonito Bonito AI and generate again. Check the dance before you start, because each render uses credits.

Why is the song out of sync after I edited my Bonito Bonito AI video?

The MP4 from Bonito Bonito AI has the song mixed in on a fixed 15-second timeline. Trimming, stretching or replacing the audio in another app moves the beats away from the dance. Download the original again within 24 hours and post it without changing the sound.
